sooooo, who can "hack" hey guys, seeming some of use look to be good with computers in general i wanted to start something up that revolves around semi illegal shit. what have use done.. and cool pranks or tips with f***ing up others computers via the internet or anything coool for scaring ppl .? I for one can track down ones ip through msn and then track down where they live with there IP address and a website B) im a noobler! teach the members some stufff or just let us no what you have done or can do ?

RE: sooooo, who can "hack" lol hacking, here is alittle summary of how i think it exists in this day and age (yes i know the thread died im bored to rofl) Hacking in its truest sense, is what you see in the movies, calling up pretending to be someone seeking information. Lookin through trash, etc etc, well thats the social engineering part which is a big component. The other component is exploits. The problem is software is alot tigheter than it was 10 years ago, if the exploit exists at all its highly doubtful to give u alot of access as it used to be. True hackers are the extreme elitists who write the massive software and insert backdoors / exploits which only they know about. Trust me they dont answer threads like this . Only things left really is cracking. Go download a demo version of winzip, open up a hexeditor, run winzip line by line until you hit the password / rego area, then alter some key bits of hex to either "skip" the password section, or supply it, or trick it, or whatever.....Cracking is still abig thing. Especially with credit cards etc using it. Some great articles in new scientist that blabber on about the new encryptions and how people are breaking them. Alot of maths involved in the latest stuff heh. Phreakin as well i guess although i dunno if its still doable these days. But hacking is virtually nonexistent, with the people capable being paid millions to hack upcoming software in controlled environments to stop the exploits. Everything to do with hacking you see on the net can be put into the "script kiddy" category. OF course you can still look for unsecure computers which is just boring. Well thats script kiddyings i guess lolol. Go do some port scans, look for open ports. Figure out what software runs on that port, figure out if that software has any exploits you can use. Hence since as i was saying, exploits are virtually nonexistent (not impossible but you have to be really really really clever and lucky to find one heh). Go wardriving, alittle cracking involved Crack a WAP router and i'll give you a tick rofl
RE: sooooo, who can "hack" Alter... I believe this is all you can do. You need to keep the filesize the exact same, correct? Something else, cracking games, for the PS1, a game called Spyro the Dragon was initally cracked, however it was not fully cracked. The funny thing here is, you couldn't get the key or whatever to finish the first level, so obviously the cracker just tried it a bit, and came to the conclusion that it was all good, but it wasn't Later on it was completely cracked. Just basically the game dev's tricking the crackers... Funny, well imo at least.
RE: sooooo, who can "hack" well the filesize depends on the sophistication of the program your cracking i'd believe - i.e. new big programs would obviously check things like this, but with smaller older apps i dont think it matters Basically you need to have really good programmin knowledge so you can "guess" how its behaving from the hex code, and then as i said, runnin through line by line, i.e. only execute 1 portion of hexcode at a time, UNTIL the program actually loads the password or whatever protection, to locate where you edit. Alot of intuition / guess work heh

Now this sounds bloody interesting! How do you do it? There is someone I know and have their ip address, but how do I find out where they live as a result? or do you just mean what city they live in - which is no big deal.
